Ambitious Medical
Lifelong performance deserves a complete picture.
When you sit with Dr. Jack, you're not getting a primary care visit, you're getting a doctor who treats your training, recovery, nutrition, and health as one system.
“Within Range” Isn’t The Same As Optimal
Here's a real story that shaped what Ambitious Medical is built to do.
At a routine annual physical, Ambitious founder, Carmen, had to advocate for additional testing — Vitamin D, testosterone, thyroid markers — the kind that usually aren't run unless you ask or something is already wrong. The Vitamin D came back low (33). Not flagged. Not out of range. Just low.
The reference range for Vitamin D is 30 to 100. A result of 33 is technically "within range." But for an active adult who trains consistently and cares about energy, recovery, and long-term performance, a 33 and a 70 are not the same thing.
That's the gap. A standard physical is built to catch what's wrong. Ambitious Medical is built to help you understand what's possible. Most people walk away from bloodwork knowing they aren't sick. What they don't walk away with is clarity on whether their numbers are actually supporting the life they're trying to live.
Integration, Not Information
Lots of companies can sell lab data. Few help you apply it.
Ambitious Medical turns insight into execution because you get:
Physician face time—real intake and results review with Dr. Jack
A comprehensive lab panel reviewed in the context of your goals, training load, recovery, and lifestyle
A plan with direction—integrated into your Ambitious coaching routine so it becomes action, not information overload
With Ambitious Medical, you can:
Train with clarity by understanding what's supporting — or limiting — energy, recovery, and progress
Learn what your labs actually mean so markers like ApoB, cholesterol, and inflammation translate into clear priorities, not panic or cutting entire food groups
Spot hidden bottlenecks that don't show up in the mirror (sleep, stress load, nutrient status, recovery strain)
Make smarter adjustments to training, recovery, nutrition, and supplementation based on what your body is actually responding to
Move from reactive to proactive, catching issues earlier and staying ahead of long-term risks
Execute consistently because the plan is integrated into your coaching environment, not left to guesswork between appointments
Members don’t leave with anxiety or extremes, they leave with clear priorities and a plan that fits real life.
Meet Dr. Jack Penner
Dr. Jack Penner's path to medicine ran directly through sport. Before earning his M.D. at Georgetown, he was an NCAA Division I athlete and a strength and conditioning coach — which means he understands training not as an outsider looking in, but as someone who has lived it.
He completed both his residency and chief residency at UCSF, earning multiple awards for clinical excellence and teaching, and later founded Kuros to integrate rigorous clinical medicine with performance-informed, preventive care.
His approach fits this community because the goal isn't chasing perfect biomarkers — it's understanding the bigger picture so you can live the fullest, strongest version of your life for decades to come.
50+ Biomarkers - Reviewed, Interpreted, and Integrated
This isn’t a “print-and-go” report. This is a comprehensive lab panel across the domains that matter most for performance, longevity, and long-term risk reduction. You’ll meet with Dr. Jack for a real conversation so your results are explained clearly, prioritized intelligently, and turned into practical next steps.
We assess markers across:
Cardiovascular health - risk and resilience signals
Metabolic health - glucose regulation and cardiometabolic performance
Hormonal health - stress physiology and sex hormone context
Inflammation + recovery load - how your body is responding to training and life demands
Nutrients + performance support - foundational markers that influence energy and nutrient status
Long-term brain health–relevant markers - as part of proactive, whole-picture screening
The deliverable is a Personal Health Plan that integrates directly into your Ambitious routines.
A simple, structured process—built to turn lab insights into real-world execution.

WHAT MEMBERS ARE SAYING
Clarity, empathy, and practical next steps—delivered with a physician’s attention.
“Dr. Jack is incredible! Before meeting with him, I felt completely overwhelmed and confused by my bloodwork and what the numbers actually meant for my health. He clearly explained everything to me and helped me create a realistic, actionable game plan for changes I could make in my daily routine.
What stood out most was his emotional warmth and empathy. Conversations around health can feel vulnerable and stressful, but he approached everything with kindness and care, which made a huge difference.”
— Ambitious Medical Member“I could not recommend working with Dr. Jack enough. In just a 30-minute Zoom session, he instantly made me feel comfortable from the first minutes of talking to him. He was so knowledgeable, listened attentively, and was able to explain everything in plain terms. I left our session with clear action steps and a much better understanding of my lab results.”
— Ambitious Medical Member“Dr. Jack was great to work with, and I found my appointment with him to be informative and reassuring. He clearly explained my bloodwork results, how the different tests relate to one another, and what they reveal about my overall health. He also provided practical guidance on ways I can improve some of my markers. I would definitely recommend meeting with Dr. Jack to anyone who wants a clear, thoughtful explanation of their results.”
